Tell me a little about you…family, job, etc.

  • I’m originally from Ankeny, but it’s my first year back in Des Moines after going to UNI, teaching in New Hampton & Waterloo. I currently teach 5th Grade at Greenwood Elementary for DMPS. I also play rugby for the Bremer County Bucks & coach high school rugby for girls & boys.

How long have you been at 8035?

  • I have been at 8035 since the end of summer, so about 6 months.

What’s you proudest achievement so far at 8035?

  • My proudest achievement has been getting my back squat to 335lbs. I haven’t squated in about 7 years!

What keeps you coming back to 8035?

  • I keep coming back for multiple reasons. Everyone, coaches & other members, are very friendly. It’s a great community. I have also seen many improvements in my health from nutrition to athletic performance.

What’s one goal you have in 2016?

  • My main goal for 2016 is to lose at least 30lbs. I feel that this goal will lead me to a healthier life, I’ll be a better rugby player, & lastly, I’ll finally be a hunk. haha!

Tell me a little about you…family, job, etc:

  • I’m married with 3 children 22,16 & 15. I work 6 days a wk for Budweiser. Besides being the loudest proudest in the stands for the numerous sports my kids play i love to read.

How long have you been a member at 8035?

  • I’ve been a member for almost 2 years. I asked for a yr membership for my birthday and have been going ever since.

What’s you proudest achievement so far at 8035?

  • Being able to hang in there! I never thought i would. I was so afraid.

What keeps you coming back to 8035?

  • All the people…from the coaches to all the other members. Everyone has been so nice and always willing to help and answer questions.

What’s one goal you have in 2016?

  • My goal is to bring the rest of the family to the ‘healthy side of life’
